On Thursday, Donald Rumsfeld told critics of the administration’s Iraq policy that they should “ just back off, take a look at it, relax ” and “understand” the situation there is “complicated” and “difficult.”
Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Richard Lugar (R-IN) took issue with Rumsfeld’s comments yesterday on CNN. “[W]e’ve got to keep our eye on the ball,” Lugar said. “It is urgent. We cannot relax.”

I would just say that the president and the Congress, however the election comes out, will have a lot to do with our leadership and who does what. But for the moment, it seems to me we’ve got to keep our eye on the ball. It is urgent. We cannot relax.

We should all just sit back relax, kick it and chill out. Just lay around and watch our troops gte ripped to shreds in a civil war that doesn’t involve us, other than we started it.
