June 30: The 112,000-gt COSTA CONCORDIA was delivered today by Fincantieri's Sestri Ponente yard near Genoa. Supermodel Eva Herzigova will be the godmother of the new Costa ship, and new Costa flagship. The naming ceremony will take place on July 7 at Civitavecchia , the port of Rome. With a passenger capacity of 3,780, COSTA CONCORDIA becomes the largest cruise ship flying the Italian flag. The Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Italian television personality Antonella Clerici.
