ABOUT LAKE TAHOE:
Lake Tahoe is North America's largest Alpine lake.
It is 22 miles long & 12 miles wide
It is the
10th deepest lake in the world at a depth of 1645 feet
Due to it's volume, Lake Tahoe never freezes over, and even in the summer,
doesn't get as warm as some of us would like!
(Although it wouldn't have it's renouned blue hue if it were warmer
because more algae would grow in it & turn it greener!)
The average water temperature of the lake in July, August & the beginning
of September is about
68 degrees
If it's been hot and still for several days, the lake temperature can
get up to 72 degrees
Many people use a wetsuit for water-skiing in Lake Tahoe.
