UP
Scott Bruce Rolen
was born on April 4, 1975, in Evansville, Indiana. ( Click
here for a complete listing of today's sports birthdays .) His parents, Ed and
Linda, were teachers in the Indiana school system—Ed a high school
instructor, Linda a first grade teacher. Scott’s older brother,
Todd, followed in his parents’ footsteps, as did older sister Kristie.
Both became biology teachers.
The Rolens lived in
Ft. Branch until Scott was three. Then they moved to Jasper, a town of
10,000 about an hour outside Evansville. Woodworking and farming were
the town's primary trades, and Scott gained an appreciation for putting
in a hard day’s work at an ear"
