Smells Like Latrine Spirit: Angels 13, Rangers 8
Lackey, Lackey, Lackey, will you ever learn? It seems like the Angels keep producing guys like him who almost have good enough stuff to be a major league pitcher, and Lack taunts, and taunts, and taunts us with his good days.
Figgy: two hits on the day, and even so, he might end up with a day off today. Fins: 1-3, two walks, and two RBI. Very good.
Donnelly is beginning to worry me. Sure, the Tarzan number he pulled in the sixth was amazing, but then giving up two runs? Esteban Yan, sure, you expect that kind of craptacularity, but Donnelly... well, it was a nice ride.
As for the Rangers, it was just about as bad a game as you could hope for. They lost swingman R.A. Dickey when he collapsed on the mound clutching his shoulder. It appears this may be a recurrance of a rhomboid muscle injury that pulled him off the mound last year, so it's something to keep in mind for the future. Meantime, the Rangers should be getting relievers Frank Francisco and Carlos Amonzar back soon; whether those guys will amount to an improvement is anybody's guess, but given last year's work, I'll say no.
